Courier address validation services

The Courier Address Database (CAD) is our largest complete list of New Zealand parcel addresses with over 3 million records. The database provides the most accurate data allowing you to ensure parcel deliveries by your NZ Post courier are as efficient as possible.

This resource is the most effective way to enhance your customer’s experience by maintaining quality addressing lists, assisting in faster processing, reducing undeliverable parcels, and increasing successful first-time deliveries.

The database exposes delivery run numbers, so that they can be included on your parcel labels. This improves accuracy and speeds up parcel processing, as it helps us identify urban, rural, residential and business addresses. The file is updated regularly so that the most accurate data is available to you when generating run numbers.

The database may be suitable for some NZ Post business customers. This service is accessible through:

  1. The ParcelAddress API (Application Programming Interface): A continuously updated programme that allows for ‘type-ahead’ addressing functionality within your website to improve delivery performance.
  2. The offline extract of the Courier Address Database: An offline extract of the database allowing you to access reliable data offline without risk of disruption.

Using the CAD, you will be able to:

  • Provide Label Line 1 and Label Line 2 values that are required to be printed on labels for integrated customers.
  • Include the delivery run number on your customers’ parcel labels when printing from your own system, reducing miss-sorts and delivery delays.
  • Easily lookup the rest of your customer’s details if you have stored the Address Identification (AID) or Delivery Point Identifier (DPID).
  • Validate customer postcode and suburb.
  • Expose rural versus urban addresses.
  • Identify the Run Type description – residential or business.
